Jorge Alejandro Aguirre Joya holds a PhD in Food Science and Technology from the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila, works in the Line of Generation and Application of Knowledge: Research in Biomedicine and Nutrition, is the leader of the Academic Network in training, Research in Biomedicine (UACOAH-CA-130) belongs at the Health Science School. He has participated in more than three projects of technology transfer in the north of Mexico. He has experience in Food technology, food biotechnology, packaging development, biodegradable food services and antioxidant capacity assessments. Current projects are about food lose and waste prevention, the development of biodegradable packaging for local producers and the technological transfer in the process of obtaining candelilla wax.
